At the time an officer of the Department of Primary Industry Fisheries, the diver is seen within the unique environment of the Great Barrier Reef, with its coral gardens and beds of waving seagrass.Behind him is the DPI Fisheries mother ship Gwendoline May, rigged as a prawn trawler. Beside him, dramatically reduced in size, is his electronic microscope, enclosed in a greatly enlarged scale from the Large-Mouthed Nanagai. His study of these and other pelagic fishes contributed to the success of the Northern commercial fishing industry.
